The 1407 Meta: Timeline and Background

• Meaning of “1407”: Refers to the meta in which the Limit Regulation (restriction revisions) implemented in July (07) 2014 (14) was in effect.

Main Features of 【Light Angel Shadoll】

1. Adoption of the “Sep-Slo” Side Deck Strategy
• Incorporates the combination of “Star Seraph Scepter” and “Star Seraph Sovereignty” (commonly known as “Sep-Slo”).
• Starting with a Summon or Special Summon, this combo allowed for powerful plays that easily set up Rank 4 Xyz Monsters (such as “Stellarknight Constellar Diamond” and “Number 16: Shock Master”) while increasing the number of cards in hand.

2. Securing Light Attribute and Materials for “Nephilim”
• While Shaddoll decks typically use Yami-Attribute monsters or monsters of various other Attributes as “Polymerization” materials, since Light Angels are “Light-Attribute,” the deck could reliably provide materials for the key card “El Shaddoll Construct” via “Polymerization.”

3. Overwhelm-Style Domination and Stability
• In addition to Shaddoll’s ability to gain Graveyard advantage and use “Thwart” during the opponent’s turn, the dominance provided by Light Angels starting from Rank 4 synergized perfectly, making this deck one of the strongest in the 1407 meta.
